Do you need more proof to see DAY is registered as Hindu organization?

Is DAY (Devotional Associates of Yogeshwar) registered as Christian Organization?

Some people have spread wrong information about the registration of DAY (Swadhyay) organization in USA.

Here, see for yourself at guidestar.org that Swadhyay is registered as X-70 (Hindu) Organization.

Mumbai Blasts

Mahesh Shah recently quoted that "Even Dawood Ibrahim is better than A. Didi, she is creating all these spiritual terrorism".

After the bomb blast in Mumbai on 7/11 - may be he should reconsider saying this. Does he still stand by what he said?

Its very easy to make rhetoric statements but they really mean nothing. Now, you know what is really terrorism. Someone killed an anti-swadhyayee because they were angry. And that is definitely inhuman act. But terrorism is far worse than this. Terrorits had no relation with the people who are killed.

Bhav Vardhan Trust -

Following is Exerpts from UN report regarding the Trust:

"Bhav Vardhan Trust (Swadhyay Parivar), founded by Pandurang Athawale, has
succeeded in transforming the lives and attitudes of millions of people. By cutting across
all socio-religious boundaries it promotes “swadhyay” (self-search and self- realization
that God is within us) and the belief that we are the children of the same God and hence are
created equal and related to each other. Their response was spontaneous both for relief and
rehabilitation in several villages in Kutch, as well as Jamnagar, Rajkot and Surendranagar
districts. Based on the concept of brotherhood and succour to those in distress, the
Swadhyay Parivar has been working in many of the earthquake-affected areas. It spurred a
movement for house reconstruction based on self-help efforts of the affected people
themselves. As on 3 September 2001 they were active in 112 villages, had planned
construction/reconstruction of 6,000 houses of which 4,534 houses were already
completed."

Following is the trust information:

Cyber War or Constructive Work?

Some do think that blogs of pro and pre swadhyayee is a cyberwar among them. But well, anti-swadhayayee people have nothing other to do but to keep writing. So, they are blogging, putting messages, publishing news, holding 'prabuddha' meetings.

While real swadhyayees are busy planting trees for MadhavVrund Din and after that their constructive work will continue. Anti-swadhyayees - what constructive work they are doing? And what they will ever do? Do they have goal? Are they doing anything positive? What they are contributing to society or country or culture?
Media - Hardly ever positive!

Gujaratsamachar.com today posted news that there is cyberwar going on between pro-swadhyayee and anti-swadhyayee. And anti-swadhyayee are well ahead in this war. They mentioned few blog pages in this article.

Unfortunately, they mentioned quite a few anti-swadhyayee blogs but they did not mention a single pro-swadhyayee blog. Not only that, they wrote in detail what anti-swadhyayee have to say but not a word regarding what positive blogs have to say. It is just a negative mentality of newspapers. (May be after reading this, one or two positive news will come up, but it won't change their negative psyche). How can they claim to be neutral??

Otherday they listed a site that has lot of negative material about Pj. Dada or A. Didi. But when it came to UN report - they did not even print the link. They just mentioned such report exists. If they would have printed the link, people could have at least visited to see it for themselves.

This is the link to report:
www.ilo.org/public/english/employment/crisis/download/gujarat.pdf

Anyhow, positive news is never masala news so no need to blame our mediocre media for not printing it.

Spiritual Ecopreneurs

On 12 July, 2006 - Swadhyayees will plant 5,000,000 (5 Million) trees/ropes in India out of that 1.2 milliion will be in Saurashtra only. Some villages will be planting 1000 per village while some swadhyay kendra will be planting around 300. There are around 100 such villages in a taluka and that makes 100000 trees per taluka.

Swadhyayees have been bringing this green revolution for many years on the principal of 'Chhod ma Ranchhod' - means - God resides in trees too.

Many scholars around the world have taken note of this eco-friendly experiment of swadhyay as following:

Bhagavan No Bhag - Bhavsamarpan

Recently, a gujrati daily (gujratsamachar.com) published the meaning of Bhagvan No Bhag as it is interpreted by Pj. Dadaji.

As discussed in earlier post, Pj. Dadaji, quoted 'Ishtan Bhogan Hi Vo Deva' a verse from Geeta (Chapter 3, V 12) that means that every individual should take out portion of his income for God (Bhagavan No Bhag). Newspaper asked Iskon for their interpretation of this verse and the newspaper mentioned that according to Iskon (whose gita translation in English by Pj. Bhaktivedant Swami - Geeta As It Is) - it means taking out portion of your agricultural earning.

Now following is what Iskon site interprets the meaning of this verse (visit http://vedabase.net/bg/3/12/en)

"In charge of the various necessities of life, the demigods, being satisfied by the performance of yajña [sacrifice], will supply all necessities to you. But he who enjoys such gifts without offering them to the demigods in return is certainly a thief."

What the newspaper tried to tell was that Pj. Dadaji interpreted the verse such a way that he can collect money from all people; according to newspaper Pj. Dadaji's interpretation is flawed.

As we know, Pj. Dadaji has translated and explained the meaning of the Geeta verses through discourses (he did not write translation himself) for each and every verse (probably three times). He did not mean to explain only this verse so that he can collect money. He did it while explaining 3rd chapter or wherever it was being referenced.

And how is it that God would say that a farmer should take out his agricultural offering otherwise he is theif and God does not make such comments about any other profession. Even Iskon in this translation does not say anything about farmers or agricultural products. What Iskon says is human necessary things that we use are not created by us humans, but by God (e.g. grains, fruit, water, light, air, sun, moon, rain and so on). And we use all these things but we don't pay any taxes to God for that. While we do pay tax for road/house/parks/electricity etc. So, whoever is using these necessary things created by God, should offer something to God or he is thief.

Now, Pj. Dada did not create Bhav-samarpan so that humans can give 'Bhagavan No Bhag' (donations) to him. He explained Geeta's verse "Ishtan Bhogan Hi Vo Deva" in its own right. And one can give donation to wherever s/he wants. It should be just a conscious effort to do something for God. God does not need anything. God has given you everything, and why would he need money or grain or fruits or flowers? He only created it. YOu can't make him happy with that. God needs your 'mind' in form of 'bhakti' or devotion. And that's the goal of Swadhyay.

Bhavsamarpan - a 'pious word' in swadhyay

This word is used piously - only those who wanted to donate something for Swadhyay learnt about this word. This word was never spoken out in public or mass gatherings until the pre-swadhyayee people who published this word.

Pj. Dadaji - as he was against collecting donations like every other organizations - got many requests from many workers that they wanted to donate for good cause. Pj. Dadaji put a condition that on three days

- Guru Purnima
- Ram Navami
- Janmashtami

at one place, people put their own donations in front of God. And no other time he accepted. This way, only those who really wanted to donate would do it. This way, until 2001 or 2006 noone knew that there is a practice of Bhavsamarpan until media published this.

So much work is being done by Swadhyay without asking for funds; and these activities are supported may be by such donations;

- Tatvagnan Vidhyapeeth (for postgraduate students) in Thane, Maharashtra. Students are not asked for any fees for lodging or boarding and they study for two years;

- Swadhyay secondary and higher secondray schools in Rajula, Kutch, Ahmedabad and Maharashtra - where children of farmer, fishermen and others come to study from 7th grade till college. And they don't pay a penny study. This way farmers and fishermen can send their children to boarding school to get education in English, Gujrati, Sanskrit literature and philosophy.

- In each village, the needy people whether swadhyayee or not, are either given grain or helped monetarily w/o publicity. Each individual is son of god and so our brother. And if we give something to brother in need, we don't humiliate them by telling others that we helped. Based on this principal such help is given w/o publicity.

- Patanjali Chikitsalays are set up in Adivasi villages where doctors volunteer. Tribals get health services at these dispensaries.

- Houses are built at several villages for swadhyayee or non-swadhyayees for those who need it.

- Lakes are dug up as 'Nirmal Neer' prayog, where people get-to-gather to expand the existing lakes or new lakes are created.

- Video Pravachans are recorded in cassettes and sent to each and every kendra throughout the world. Many kendra are rented and rent is costly in some countries. Books are published for various philosophical topics.

- Various cultural events are organized like Kshatriya Sanchalan, Bhav lakshi Samaroh etc. where millions of people gather.

- Every year Elocution Competition is held at every place where there is swadhyay. And depending on the number of attendents, places are rented and stages are set up.

- Many trees are planted each year on 12th of July. In 2006 there is estimate of 5 million new trees to be planted in Gujarat.

- Swadhyay has built or bought few prayer halls and administrative places at few places (like Sandipani Bhavan in Vadodara, Madhav Kendra in Chicago)

Apart from above, Swadhyay may be involved in many other activities where money is being spent, but because of the principal of keeping the focus on the cultural need rather than amount of money spent, its not being publicised in media. And that is why, media has been criticising Swadhyay about not spending money for poor.

General idea of charity in India is just to build hospitals, open up schools and giving away food packets to poor people. This is all what traditional do-gooders do. But Swadhyay believes that this is already being done by others and swadhyay does not have to limit itself with such conventional charity work. It wants to teach people how to catch fish rather than giving them a fish. It believes that doing social work should be done with God in center. And it tries to rejuvenate the indian philosophical values. The process may be slow but it is steady. And Swadhyay has never sway away from its goal. There has been repercussions now and then after Pj. Dadaji passed away and these issues are created to hinder the God's work by anti-swadhyayee.

Place of Money - in Swadhyay

'Money' has been cause of many evils in the world. And among human groups there is always race for money, power, woman, land! And Pj. Dadaji wanted to stay away from such 'dushan'. So he kept money out of picture in his work.

For any groups or organization, money was THE beginning point. At least in a voluntary organization money should not get such preference. And Swadhyay is a spiritual and cultural work to bring back the vedic thinking. Pj. Dada wanted to keep God (Narayan) in the center of everything not money (Laxmi). Not only he "wanted" - it is the only way.

He says about Karl Marx and Communism in Ishavasyam Upnishad discourses that Karl Marx was pained to see that money, power etc was created by humans and now human feel inferior to such inhuman spirits. Why? That's why Karl Marx created a theory of communism and dreamt of a society where everyone has equal money. Its a different matter whether this idea led communist countries towards right and prosporous path or not. And Pj. Dada does not endorse communism either. But point to note is that money is inferior to humans and humans have no reason to feel inferior for the lack of it and feel superior for having it. And that is why Pj. Dada said God is within you, why should you feel inferior? He did not like to see the son of God begging or feel dejected in the society. He wanted everyone to recognize their own power and spirit within themselves.

And not only he believed in it - he proved this through prayogs in various villages and international community have seen this. Please read Vital Connections by Dr. Shrivastav.

That said, he does recognize the need of money to do any work. Western way of looking towards money is as a commodity - a utilitarian look. While eastern way of looking towards money is a pious look. This comes from quality of 'Krutagnta' towards all being - living and non-living. A Hindu asks for forgiveness even if s/he touches book by foot - because book carry knowledge. Same for food. Same way they don't throw moeny or touch by foot. This is just a way of appreciation. And Pj. Dadaji taught - money used for our purposes is Laxmi but money used for social/divine purpose is Mahalaxmi. And he gave prayogs to famers, fishermen and others to work for God and generate money that helps the needy people.

May prayogs in Swadhyay like Yogeshwar Krushi, Matsyagandha, Vrikshmandir, Shree Darshanam, Bhagavati Parivar Store, Ekvira, Jayashree Cargo Service - generate money. But instead of keeping goal of generating more money, the goal is to work together and to work for God. People working together develop atmiyata (relationship) and come closer. Many villages have come together and many quarraling towns and communities are united because of such prayogs. The generated money was a secondary benefit and it was distributed in needy people without much publicity.

On a later date, media and other people accused Swadhyay of collecting funds through such prayogs as these prayog's sole goal was to generate money. They accused that these prayogs collect money but its not being spent. But there are many swadhyay expenses that are not taken into account by these media.
