Following is Exerpts from UN report regarding the Trust:

"Bhav Vardhan Trust (Swadhyay Parivar), founded by Pandurang Athawale, has
succeeded in transforming the lives and attitudes of millions of people. By cutting across
all socio-religious boundaries it promotes “swadhyay” (self-search and self- realization
that God is within us) and the belief that we are the children of the same God and hence are
created equal and related to each other. Their response was spontaneous both for relief and
rehabilitation in several villages in Kutch, as well as Jamnagar, Rajkot and Surendranagar
districts. Based on the concept of brotherhood and succour to those in distress, the
Swadhyay Parivar has been working in many of the earthquake-affected areas. It spurred a
movement for house reconstruction based on self-help efforts of the affected people
themselves. As on 3 September 2001 they were active in 112 villages, had planned
construction/reconstruction of 6,000 houses of which 4,534 houses were already
completed."

Geographical coverage- All over India .

Core Objectives- Human Resource Development.

Shelter- Supported 4537 families in terms of material for constructing permanent houses.

Dams- Reconstructed 13 storage tanks in 13 villages of Anjar, Bhuj, Rapar & Bhachau talukas. Has also planned 25 stand posts in 4 talukas.
